What is my role as a Coordinator?
1. Select at least five families
The families should be raising children with disabilities in your area that are willing to develop a personal relationship with an elected official. For some this might mean inviting them into their home or meeting them at a restaurant for coffee.
Elected officials include Legislators, County Supervisors or Executives, Mayors and School Board members who make policy decisions that will affect our families on a daily basis.
There may be more then one coordinator in your area. Please work together to provide a diverse group of families and coordinate efforts for contacting local officials.
Communication will be key in this campaign!
Please feel free to contact any of the committee members for advice, information or support. We will share information with you regularly via email.
2. Complete the family information sheet HERE
3. Be a resource and support link
Families you recruit will need your support. We want this to be a pleasant experience for everyone. Some families may need more support then you can give. If this is the case, please feel free to refer the family to Fil Clissa or John Shaw.
